Bangko Kabayan Foundation, Inc. sponsored a 3-day Online Training Program via Zoom last June 5, 12, and 19, 2021. The training program was entitled B.E.S.T (Bangon Entrepreneurs at Sumabay sa Tagumpay) Batch 2 which aims to implement a capacity-building program targeting the micro-entrepreneurs who are still struggling to adapt to the new business landscape as shaped by the COVID-19 pandemic at such a low cost. The training was facilitated by Bayan Academy through Entrepreneur speakers -- a social development institution for entrepreneurship and management education especially for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).
The online training program consists of three (3) modules involving topics that serve as critical inputs to the decision-making process of MSMEs on how businesses will become resilient.
The Speaker of the first module that deals with the external environment is Ms. Janine Chiong – Co-founder and CEO of HABI Footwear. She talked about assessing the external environment during this pandemic that showed what opportunities can be pursued and what threats to look out for. These can be derived by examining five (5) factors which are Social, Political, Economic, Environmental, and Technological.
The Speaker of the second module that covers the internal environment is Mr. Rodmark Barriga – Co-founder and CEO, Palamigan Co. He talked about examining the internal environment that will yield information on the strengths that an enterprise should take advantage of and weaknesses that should be managed. These can be determined by taking a closer look at the four (4) management functions which are Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, and Finance.
The Speaker of the third module related to digital marketing is Ms. Patricia Lim Francia – Co-founder and CEO of Woven. She featured the basic digital marketing modules of Facebook. Micro entrepreneurs were taught how to maximize the different tools in Facebook and Instagram to properly market their businesses, products, and services to their target market online.
A total of 46 participants participated in the said online training.
