Last March 4, 2017, the word “Metamorphosis” became a large part of BangkoKabayan General Assembly as they exemplified the true meaning of transformation from a cocoon to a beautiful butterfly.
The day began with a team building activity entitled “The Butterfly Metamorphic Race”. The bank was divided into 5 groups – The Green Birdwings, Black Swallowtails, Red Monarchs, Blue Morphos and Yellow Gatekeepers, who will compete which each other as to speed, target earned and creativity. Before the official start of the Race, the team presented their one-minute yells. Each team showcased their dancing, yelling and cheerleading stunts which made the crowd more lively and energized. Yellow Gatekeepers overmatched the other teams by their yell “Go Champions...Aim High! Fly High!”
The challenges of the Metamorphic Butterfly Race are designed to test the unity and the participant’s ability to follow the rules. The game can be won by placing the right persons in each position, unity, and right strategy. These were measured as 35% speed, 35% target earned and 30% creativity. Score sheets are patterned according to our computation of branch performances only in a simpler way. Because of the high adrenalin rush of the participants, they were able to finish the race in less than 1 hour. Some had to carry balloons on their chests; others eat various foods while some had to conquer their fear of heights to gather materials from a hanging bridge. Other participants had to drip themselves into the pool to carry over their materials, while others raced using a manually operated Go Kart. After gathering all their materials and targets, the team cooperatively designed their butterflies. After 8 legs of challenges, the Black Team won the game garnering an average of 89.93%.
The afternoon program was presented as if the bank employees were audience of a live show entitled BK METAMORPHOSIS. Senior Executive Vice President, Mrs. Linda Lejano did the opening remarks. Throughout these years, BangkoKabayan experienced different hardships and struggles that set the bank where it is today – A Private Development Bank. The people behind this success are truly commendable. And in every stage of change, the potential adaptation and evolution is greatly enhanced by having a clear vision and mission that “BangkoKabayan will be the preferred financial institution of MSME's in Region 4...”
