The COVID-19 pandemic that poses a threat to everyone’s health has been with us for almost three years. It has been the greatest challenge for hospitals as they take decisive action to protect their patients and employees. Some hospitals lead to temporary closure due to a shortage of medical equipment and supplies, while some are at brim capacity.
San Jose District Hospital fought to serve the people of San Jose, Batangas, and the residents of their neighboring towns. Unexpectedly, they experienced temporary closure twice because of the COVID-19 surge. It caused them to have jam-packed patients, and all their medical equipment was also at a maximum. The high number of patients resulted in sharing some medical equipment that might have caused contamination.
For that reason, last July 1, 2022, Bangko Kabayan Inc. San Jose branch extended its hand to support the needs of San Jose District Hospital. Through Bangko Kabayan Foundation, Inc., they have donated hospital equipment like a BP apparatus analog, two thermal scanners, one suction machine, two nebulizers, and two finger oximeters.
The battle against COVID-19 is not yet over, but as one community, we must continue to suppress the spread and support each other to stay safe.
