BKFI recognized as XTrash Challenger

Last October 14, 2021, Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP), the country’s largest business-led NGO has launched XTrash Challenge, a solid waste collection activity in partnership with Basic Environmental Systems and Technologies, Inc. (BEST). They invited several companies including Bangko Kabayan Founda-tion Inc. (BKFI) to take the challenge of environmental responsibility and solid waste management.

In the 1st XTrash Challenge, BKFI was able to collect 257.58 kilos of trash. These trash will be converted into environment points to help an adopted community endorsed by Samahan ng Nagkakaisang Pamilya ng Pantawid (SNPP). For the period of May 1 - September 15, 2021, SNPP have raised environmental points that will be good for 300 food packs to be given to priority families in Imus, Cavite, Makati, and Muntinlu-pa. These families are also waste pickers and/or are involved in their communities’ solid waste manage-ment projects.

BKFI was recognized for its unwavering commitment to teach segregation at source and has contributed to lessen the landfills and garbage problems. This kind of recognition inspires us more to continue to cre-ate awareness with the use of technology and be able to unite the community to fulfill our commitment to community development by starting our excellent service thru the help of our partners in advancing the culture of sharing even thru trash items that are not usually valued by people.
