In a display of corporate social responsibility, BK's Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability Department participated in two mass blood donation events last February 7, 2024, and April 22, 2024, at Ibaan and San Jose, Batangas, respectively.
On February 7, 2024, BK participated in "Ibaan's Life Line: A Bloodletting Drive in Celebration of 192 Years," held at the Recto Gym, Poblacion, Ibaan, Batangas. This event aimed to provide support for individuals suffering from serious injuries from accidents, leukemia, or kidney diseases, who require blood for dialysis, surgeries, or transfusions. Employees from BK Executive Office Credit and BBG departments contributed to this noble cause.
The second batch of the Mass Blood Donation event on April 22, 2024, hosted at the San Jose District Hospital in San Jose, Batangas, aimed to collect 50 bags of blood for patients in need of transfusions. The employees from the BK San Jose branch and the Executive Office Remedial Department generously donated blood to support this cause.
BK employees were enthusiastic about participating and saving lives. Here are some of their heartfelt experiences:
Berniece Luizette P. Dalisay, also from BK's Executive Office under the Branch Banking Group, shared, "The best feeling I experienced on my birthday was when I donated blood last February 7, 2024. It is a selfless act that can save lives and make a positive impact in the community."
Jay Carlo P. Martija, from BK's Executive Office under the Credit Department, reflected, "Being a blood donor last February 7, 2024, I came to realize the joy of helping others without expecting anything in return."
BK's participation in these blood donation drives underscores its commitment to making a positive difference in the community and saving lives.
Ralph Richard M. Geron, from BK's Executive Office under the Credit Department, emphasized, "For me, blood donation is a small act of kindness that turns into a great deed when supporting the lives of those in need."
Jay Vee Sta. Cruz, from BK's Executive Office under the Remedial Department, shared, "Every time I donate blood, I feel happy and fulfilled to be of help to those in need. Despite feeling a bit dizzy due to the extreme heat on April 22, 2024, I easily recovered after resting. It's a wonderful feeling to be of assistance."
Shara G. Caringal, IFA of BK San Jose Branch, expressed her intent to donate again, saying, "The doctors and staff of San Jose District Hospital were very accommodating, making me realize the dual happiness of helping myself stay healthy and the great honor of being part of this bloodletting activity."
