For many years, Bangko Kabayan (BK) celebrated its founding anniversary through a Face-to-Face General Assembly. However, because of the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) wherein social gatherings are prohibited, it was physically impossible to hold a bank-wide get together; but this yearly tradition should not be missed.
Last August 19, 2020, BK then held a virtual celebration with a theme “Together, We Win,” which fosters positivity and unity in these times of uncertainty. It is also a statement that the bank is claiming its victory to the transition to a new normal brought by the pandemic. It is also a declaration that unity coupled with positivity and hard work ensure to bring where the bank want to be no matter how hard it could be.
The event started with a simple prayer followed by the opening remarks of the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Leandro B. Ofrecio. Among those in attendance were BK’s new set of Board of Directors (BODs) who were introduced to all employees. Ms. Beatriz B. Romulo, the new president of BK, gave her celebratory message focusing on the resiliency of bank and its employees. Service awardees and employees who demonstrated excellence in their work areas were also recognized during the event.
The program ended with an encouraging message from BK’s Chairman of the Board, Ms. Maria Teresa M. Ganzon.
