Last November 28, 2021, Bangko Kabayan together with Bangko Kabayan Foundation Inc. constructed an alternative pathway in Brgy. Nangkaan, Mataasnakahoy, Batangas to help its locals who were passing through the lakeshore of Purok 5, Brgy. Nangkaan to the town proper. These include fishermen, farmers, traders, workers, teachers, students, and some tourists. Brgy. Nangkaan has approximately 325 residents and 88 families.
The said pathway is in the forest. It caused accidents during the rainy season due to its slippery road and sloping terrain. The construction of the pathway made of eco-bricks and putting handle post is a big help for the safety from slopes and steep areas. The project was made possible with the help of Nangkaan youths, Nangkaan’s Lakeshore Associations, Branch Banking Group, BK Lipa Branch, and the Audit team.
BK employees also donated a mini-community pantry to provide rice to the volunteer construction workers who helped with this project.
