One of Bangko Kabayan’s core values is Commitment to Community Development inspired by the Economy of Communion’s teaching on the culture of giving. Every year, Bangko Kabayan (BK), together with the support from Bangko Kabayan Foundation Inc. (BKFI), the social arm of BK, sponsors different social activities during Chritsmas time.
For the year 2018, all BK branches including the head office were divided into twelve clusters. Each cluster was requested to propose different activities. After the submission of the proposal of each cluster, the Personnel Committee reviewed each proposal for approval.
After that, all clusters scheduled their approved activities on December 1 and 8, 2018. The activities were Christmas parties for children beneficiaries, gift giving, and livelihood seminars. A reverse caroling was also conducted which benefited the indigent families.
Truly, after all the activities, all employees were happy with the result. You can see the time and effort given by all employees to share happiness to the beneficiaries.
Ever since I was hired in BK ten years ago, I have been amazed with this kind of culture because management never fails to conduct these kinds of activities. It serves as a good testimony to all new employees that in BK, we have a culture of giving. Through these activities, we are able to impact the community we are serving and show that BK is not all about business, but also gives importance to the value of commitment to community development.
